My Research

The art project at the centre of my research study set out to bring students on an experiential journey in art and art-making so they could interrogate real-life issues and in doing so, find their voice as artists and activists. The video above includes images of their final work. It illustrates the students' own understanding and interpretation of the Anthropocene epoch, an unofficial unit of geologic time, used to describe the most recent period in Earth’s history when human activity started to have a significant impact on the planet’s climate and ecosystems .

You are invited to view the research projects I conducted during my Professional Master of Education in Art and Design with Digital Media at the Limerick School of Art and Design from 2019-2021. My research includes a research report, a combined learning artefact and a differentiation case study.

Research Report

The aim of the study was to identify the key elements of teaching and learning in a constructivist classroom that can promote and encourage reflective learning, active participation, and the ability to raise questions in order to create a piece of activist art.

Special Educational Needs

Differentiation Case Study:

The special educational needs involved in this case study were mild general learning difficulty, dyspraxia, severe speech and language disorder and dyslexia.
